Marcel Schrötter will seine erstaunliche Rookie-Saison in der Supersport-Weltmeisterschaft an diesem Wochenende auf dem Circuito de Jerez in Südspanien mit Stil beenden. Der krönende Abschluss wäre ein Sieg in einem der beiden Rennen.

Seit der letzten Veranstaltung in Portimao vor vier Wochen ist klar, dass Marcel Schrötter die Meisterschaft auf dem dritten Gesamtrang beenden wird. Zudem hat sich der 30-jährige Deutsche inzwischen mit seinem aktuellen italienischen Team MV Agusta Reparto Corse auf eine weitere Zusammenarbeit im nächsten Jahr geeinigt.

Schrötter hat dieses Jahr bereits sieben Podiumsplätze errungen, aber ihm fehlt noch ein Sieg, um seine makellose Bilanz zu vervollständigen. Schrötter kennt die Strecke von Jerez wie seine Westentasche, und genau darauf setzt er. Dieses Wochenende markiert auch den Start in die neue Saison mit Tests einiger neuer Features an der MV Agusta F3.

Das Rennwochenende beginnt am Freitag mit den zwei freien Trainings, bevor es am Samstagmorgen direkt in die Superpole geht, in der die Startaufstellung festgelegt wird. Das erste Rennen des Wochenendes startet dann am Samstagnachmittag um 16:15 Uhr, Rennen 2 wird am Sonntag wieder zur üblichen Zeit um 12:30 Uhr gestartet. "Ich freue mich sehr auf Jerez, auch wenn es bereits das letzte Rennwochenende des Jahres ist. Es ist schade, dass die Saison so schnell vorbeigegangen ist. Ich könnte locker noch zwei oder drei weitere Rennen fahren. Trotzdem freue ich mich darauf, auch weil Jerez eine Strecke ist, die ich sehr gut kenne. Es wird auch deshalb interessant sein, weil wir ein paar kleine Dinge am Motorrad ausprobieren wollen, die für das nächste Jahr interessant sein könnten. Ich bin sehr neugierig darauf, wie diese Dinge funktionieren werden und wie das Ganze aussehen wird. In dieser Hinsicht ist es wichtig, Daten und Informationen zu sammeln, um eine bestimmte Richtung für die nächste Saison einzuschlagen. Ausserdem haben wir nächste Woche noch einen Test in Portimao, der demselben Zweck dienen sollte. Aber jetzt steht erst einmal das Saisonfinale auf dem Programm, wo ich alles geben werde, um zumindest in beiden Rennen auf dem Podium zu stehen, und hoffentlich können wir etwas ernsthafter um den Sieg kämpfen."

EN: Last dance of the season

This weekend at the Circuito de Jerez in the south of Spain, Marcel Schrötter wants to end his amazing rookie season in Supersport World Championship in style. The crowning glory would be a win in one of both races.

Since the last event in Portimao four weeks ago, it has been clear that Marcel Schrötter will finish the championship in third place overall. In addition, the 30-year-old German has since reached an agreement with his current Italian team MV Agusta Reparto Corse to continue working together next year.

Schrötter has already claimed seven podiums this year, but he still needs a win to complete his flawless record. Schrötter knows the Jerez track like the back of his hand, and that's exactly what he's banking on. This weekend also marks the start of the future somehow, testing of some new features on the MV Agusta F3.

The race weekend gets underway on Friday with the two free practice sessions before going straight into Superpole on Saturday morning, where the starting grid is determined. The first race of the weekend will then start at 16:15 on Saturday afternoon, with Race 2 on Sunday at 12:30. "I am really looking forward to Jerez, even though it is already the last race weekend of the year. It is a shame that the season has gone by so quickly. I could easily do two or three more races. Nevertheless, I excited, also because Jerez is a track I know very well. It will also be interesting because we want to try and evaluate a few little things on the bike that could be interesting for next year. I am very curious to see how these things will work and how the whole package will look like. In this respect, it is important to collect data and information in order to have a certain direction for next season. Also, we have another test next week in Portimao, which should serve the same purpose. But for now, the season finale is on the agenda, where I will give everything to be on the podium at least in both races, and hopefully we can fight a little more seriously for the win."
