Nach seinem ersten Podium als WorldSSP-Rookie am vorletzten Wochenende in Assen hofft Marcel Schrötter beim vierten WM-Lauf des Jahres in Barcelona auf weitere Fortschritte.

Nicht erst mit seinem starken zweiten Platz im Samstagsrennen bei der letzten Station der Meisterschaft in den Niederlanden liess Marcel Schrötter sein Potenzial aufblitzen. An diesem Wochenende findet das vierte Rennen der Saison auf dem Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya statt, wo der 30-jährige Deutsche in seiner Grand-Prix-Karriere meist starke Rennen gezeigt hat.

Schrötter geht daher mit gestärktem Selbstvertrauen und der Überzeugung an den Start, dass die 4,6 Kilometer lange Strecke vor den Toren der pulsierenden Hauptstadt Kataloniens den Eigenschaften seiner MV Agusta F3 800 RR entgegenkommt.

Das Rennwochenende beginnt am Freitag mit den beiden freien Trainings, bevor es am Samstagmorgen direkt in die Superpole geht, in der die Startaufstellung festgelegt wird. Das erste Rennen des Wochenendes startet dann am Samstagnachmittag um 15:15 Uhr, Rennen 2 wird am Sonntag um 12:30 Uhr gestartet. Der österreichische Rechteinhaber im deutschsprachigen Raum, ServusTV, wird live von den wichtigsten Entscheidungen des Wochenendes berichten.

"Ich freue mich auf Barcelona, und ich bin auch froh, dass nun die Meisterschaft ohne lange Pausen so richtig ins Rollen kommt. Barcelona ist eine Strecke, auf der ich immer gut gefahren bin, und sie macht auch sehr viel Spass. Ich denke auch, dass der Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya unserem Motorrad liegen wird und es gut funktionieren könnte. In dieser Hinsicht erwarte ich viel. Nach unserem guten Assen-Wochenende bin ich natürlich hoch motiviert, dort weiterzumachen, wo wir beim letzten Mal aufgehört haben. Das Ziel muss ganz klar wieder das Podium sein, auch wenn der Schritt nach ganz oben längst überfällig ist. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder angreifen und hoffentlich gelingt es uns, einen weiteren Schritt nach vorne zu machen."

EN: Next step in sight

After his first podium as a WorldSSP rookie two weeks’ time ago in Assen, Marcel Schrötter is hoping to make further progress at the World Championship’s round four of the year in Barcelona.

Not only by his strong second place in Saturday's race at the last stop of the series in the Netherlands, but Marcel Schrötter also let shine his potential at several times yet. This weekend sees the fourth event of the season at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, where the 30-year-old German has usually shown strong races in his Grand Prix career.

Schrötter therefore heads into the weekend with boosted self-confidence and the conviction that the 4.6 kilometres long track at the gates of the vibrant capital of Catalonia suits the characteristics of his MV Agusta F3 800 RR.

The race weekend begins on Friday with the two free practice sessions before going straight into Superpole on Saturday morning, where the starting grid is determined. The first race of the weekend will then start on Saturday afternoon at 3:15 p.m., with Race 2 getting underway on Sunday at 12:30. Austrian rights holder in the German-speaking region, ServusTV, will provide live coverage of all important decisions of the weekend.

"I am looking forward to Barcelona, and I am also glad that the championship is now really getting rolling without any longer breaks. Barcelona is a track where I have always done well, and it is also a lot of fun to ride there. I also think that the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will suit our bike, and everything could work well. In this respect, I expect a lot. After our good Assen weekend, I am of course highly motivated to continue where we left off last time. The goal clearly has to be on the podium again, even if the step to the top spot is long overdue. We will definitely be attacking again and hopefully we will manage to take another step forward."
